Athens 2040 Olympics
Event Branding, Pictogram Design
The Athens 2040 Olympics develops an inclusive, universal brand identity that is recognized worldwide while remaining rooted in Athens. I used this project to explore pictogram iconography and experiment with visual metaphor in a poster series—embedding meaning, value, and implied narratives within the visuals.
The eight pictograms depict different sports in a geometric stroke style. Their circular shapes are designed to echo the Olympic rings and serve as intuitive wayfinding tools, enabling global visitors to “read” them without needing to understand the language.
Universal Language
In this set of posters, the laurel wreath is used as a metaphor for victory—depicted as the halo of Athena, the basketball net a ball is about to enter, and the golf hole a ball is about to sink. This develops a flexible brand visual language that can be applied across different mediums while creating a narrative that celebrates the glory of the Olympics.
